GNP Wear Co Ltd was founded by Mr. Gunness Beedassee decades ago. Today, GNP is a leading manufacturer of ready-made garments. The Focus label was born out of a passion that Gunness had for vintage garments.
From the GNP premises of about 10,000 square meters, Gunness oversees some 70 employees all dedicated to creating beautifully crafted garments for the local Mauritian markets and for several countries. This was not always so. His business grew gradually over the years, and his expertise along with it, especially in denim and twill.
Asked about his goal, he states his focus is to be an “innovative company, offering the best value and unmatched customer service, in the ready-made garments sector”. He continues: “I’ve always endeavoured to provide quality products to my customers, whether in South Africa, France, or the USA. Going the extra mile is not only what makes me tick, but also the respect that I owe to those that wear the clothes we make”.
What makes GNP and its brands work is the total focus on being a family of people at work. “When we see our company, it’s not the legal structures, it’s the people that we help as professionals, it’s the smiles of our customers, it’s the legacy we forge together that matters most,” says Gunness.
